Menu Link
Pages of the type "Menu Link" do not have any content, but redirect the visitor to another page of your website or an external address. They can also be used to give your website a comphrehensive structure; for example, if you're building a multilangual page, it is strongly recomended to create menu items as parent objects for the pages of each language section (de, en and so on).
When creating a menu link, you are asked to provide the following information:
- Link: target of the menu link. This can be either an existing page of your website or an external link. The input for the external address is enabled when choosing "External Link" in the select box. The external address has to be the complete URL, e.g. it has to start with http:// or https://.
- Anchor: When linking to a page of your site and the setting "Section Anchor" is not empty, you can select here one of the section anchors or manually added anchors of the selected target page.
- Target: You can choose whether the link should be opened in the same browser tab, break a frameset or should be opened in a new window/tab.
- Redirect type: If the redirect is temporarily, select 302, otherwise 301. If you are not sure, use 301.
